These products use an industry-standard K-type modular handset that is compatible with standard TTY acoustic couplers. The handset microphone may be turned on and off via a Mute key. The optional 6002TA Analog Port Terminal Adapter
for 6210 and 6220 models and 8002TA/8003TA Analog Port Terminal Adapters
for 8610, 8620, and 8810 models provide a standard non-acoustic (POTS) connection point for direct connect TTYs.
Network-provided text information, including caller ID is displayed on an integral LCD display. Display characters are 5.55mm high and display tilt is adjustable from 20 to 70 degrees.
Receive volume levels are adjustable over approximately a 21dB range in 8 increments. Handset volume level is reset to a user-configurable default level between calls. Transmit volume level for headset operation is adjustable through menu setup.
The handset is Hearing Aid Compatible, as defined by FCC Part 68 regulations.
Controls and keys are tactilely discernible without activating the controls or keys. They are all operable with one hand and do not require tight grasping, pinching, or twisting. The force required to activate controls and keys are less than one pound. No key repeat functions are used.
A tactile locator (raised dot) is provided on key 5 of the dial pad. Lighted indicators provide visual indication of toggle control status, as well as the activation state of some network features. Except for network-provided audible indications, no other touch or sound status indications are provided.

These products use an industry-standard

TTYs.

Display characters are 4.89 mm high and display tilt is adjustable from 45
to 85 degrees.
Receive volume levels are adjustable over
approximately a 24 dB range in 8 increments. Handset volume level is
retained between calls. Transmit volume level is not adjustable.
The handset is Hearing Aid Compatible, as
defined by FCC Part 68 regulations.
